How far does the signal reach?
In open terrain, a LoRa signal can reach 10+ kilometers. In urban areas, this is about 1 km. With repeaters, messages can travel much further through "hops" between devices.
Can I use the network if there are no repeaters near me?
Yes! You can communicate directly with other users within range (about 1 km in urban areas, up to 10+ km in open terrain), without repeaters. But repeaters significantly increase range and reliability. Consider placing one yourself!
How do I know if there's coverage in my area?
Check the interactive map to see active repeaters near you. You can also ask in the community if others are active in your region. You can test by getting a device and sending test messages.
Can the network fail?
Individual repeaters can fail (for example due to power outage or defects), but the mesh network automatically recovers by finding alternative routes. The more repeaters, the more robust the network.
